For a couple of bucks, turn a boring light into a fun one for a fraction of the cost of stained glass.

Nice faux stained-glass bulb which can add sparkle to a dull area or shade. Each section is painted to look the part and each is separated with strong black resin to simulate the lead. The thing that amazes me about these bulbs is their life. I recently had one go and replaced it... after 7 years of being on every day. I don't know why these seem to last so long but it's an added bonus of an already cool product.

Bought two more of these today at my local Fry's, and notice a definite change: More color has been added, especially red, and the other colors show up better since the individual sections are darker than before. The bulbs (older and newer) create a soft light that is far more soothing than a white bulb. Depending on the location of the lamp and the color of the shade you will see more of the other colors as well, either through the shade or reflecting above the lamp on the wall. Only wish they were available by the box; have used them for years and hope they stay around.

I've had one of these in a little lamp with a white shade that sits on an end table I have. It's used most nights I'm home and it's lasted for ages. The colors of the glass do start to fade a bit after such a long while however, even though the bulb life goes on and on. If they made some with different wattages, like for instance at least 60, that would be wonderful. Unfortunately they only come in 25 watts. If there were higher wattages, I'd be tempted to use more of them here and there around my home, although they are a bit pricey... However, I do have a major complaint with these bulbs. On every one of them that I've seen, almost 1/3 of the bulb surface is yellow glass. There are more yellow pieces than any other color except for red, and the red pieces are smaller. I counted more than one bulb, and this was the average result: Yellow: 10 pieces Red: 10 Orange: 7 Blue: 5 Green: 3 The pieces which are fewest in number are also the smallest in size. I'm not sure why that is. Personally, I don't find a predominance of yellow to be appealing. I would prefer that the colored pieces which comprise these bulbs were more equal in size and distribution and therefore with a bit less yellow-tinted light.

These will transform a frosted white glass shaded lamp into something a lot warmer, a lot more interesting.. They're beautiful. Now I need a clear glass shade to run one bare in, on a dimmer, just to admire the bulb itself. I think they're little works of art!

I could not believe how beautifully put together this lamp was when I opened the box. Colors are vibrant and I put in two florescent lights....it intensified the colors. I can hardly wait till the second arrives for the other end table. Fast delivery and an INCREDIBLE price. Thank you!

Nice lamp - although the base is a little overpowering. Normal ground shipment was SUPER fast... just a couple days. However, I had a question about the price. I went to Lifetime International's website and found that what seemed to be the same lamp was $45 cheaper before shipping charges. I left a message for an explanation, and I received this email: "Let me explain to you the different between my website and my amazon website... This explanation makes no sense to me and leaves my question about price unanswered still. Also, Amazon's advertistement says it is American stained glass, but there is nothing anywhere on the product, in the instruction/info sheet, or on the box that indicates WHERE it was made. The person who sent me the above-mentioned email says it was American made, but there is no proof. Another drawback is that lightbulbs screw in to the sockets with some difficulty... However, the shade is beautifully colored.

If I were to see this lamp in someone's home I would immediately presume they spent well over $500 for it, maybe close to a grand. And I've been shopping lamps for the last year or so, so my sensibilities are fairly well tuned at this point in time as to lamps and lamp prices. With all the bad news about Chinese products recently it might be easy to miss an upside: labor is still dirt cheap there, and so for labor-intensive products stuff from China should be considered. Well, this lamp is clearly a labor-intensive product. Someone spent a lot of time fitting these little pieces of glass together. And they did a very nice job of it. Somehow, despite the dimensions being mentioned, I expected the lamp to be smaller. It is actually rather imposing. I have a fairly big desk and this lamp is almost too big for it. So, you might want to consider this for some place other than that little nook you were thinking of. Quality: I'm floored. Very nice. Really, you'd think it was made in Japan. The underside of the lamp is nicely finished as well, with nice wing-nuts to open the bottom compartment for replacing the base's bulb. I should mention that when the lamp is fully illuminated it is almost hard to tell the base is lit. But it is a great feature that you can turn out the top two bulbs and just use the base as a nightlight. The lamp throws a lot of nice white light out from the bottom of the shade, so it is indeed a great desk lamp, and not so much the "hippy lamp" lighting I get from my very red glass lamp I bought at the flea market. Still, because of all the color from the glass, you get a very warm and cheerful ambience. I am apprehensively awaiting the arrival of my Karl Barry Studios lamp, for which I paid eight times more than this lamp. As you might imagine, based on my comments here, I wonder if the expensive lamp will match the bang for the buck of this lamp. I'm sure both lamps will have their own appeal, but I assure you that you can't go wrong on this one for the price. Getting this colorful thing has put me in a good mood for several days and I keep staring at it rather than doing my paperwork.

Received this gorgeous lamp from Lifetime International Inc. a couple weeks ago. My wife and I are thrilled with this lamp. We Got a great price. The attention to detail is fantastic and the light reflects off the glass panels to show amazing and beautiful colors. We absolutely recommend it to anybody who loves lamps. It is truly a gorgeous lamp.

The lamp is beautiful and I am very pleased. The only reason I didn't rate it 5 stars is because the glass doesn't hide the light bulbs as much as I'd like it to. It looks fine, but if you're next to the lamp, it can be rather bright, even with a low wattage bulb.
