WALL CLOCK WITH LIGHT SENSOR 12"ReviewsIt's big and it ticks, which may be a problem for some people, but it has the nice, soft green glow in the picture and the room doesn't have to be pitch-black for the light to appear. A very good product for those who want to see the time clearly at night; no glasses needed if it's not too far away. It's not radio controlled but quartz clocks these days keep excellent time. The good news is that it's nice to have a lighted wall clock. Now I can tell the time even when it is dark. The bad news is that in the auto mode, the light does not come on unless it is completely dark. By completely dark, I mean that you cannot even have a night light on. I guess the light sensor is too sensitive and the sensitivity cannot be adjusted. Also, in the auto mode, the light is very dim. I leave the light in the "on" position and so it's on 24/7. I'm not sure how long the battery will last in this mode. I have the clock for a few days and the light is still going strong. When the battery dies, I will hook up a AC/DC adapter to it. It has a 4.5V DC input plug. I purchased this clock as a present for my 85 year old mother so she could see the time during the night when she woke up. The fact that there is an option to only light during the night hours and that it is easy for her to read is a bonus. She loves it! I've had this clock now for several weeks and it is great. Shines a nice green which allows the clock to be seen easily in the dark but is not so bright to light up the room. Perfect. Average Rating:![]() |

Never be in the dark about the time again. Our l 12" Sensing Wall Clock lights up automatically when the lights dim. Lights cast a soft green glow. Great for the kitchen, hallways, garage, home office and acts like a night light only better, it tells time!... |

Change in the Neon LightReviewsThis album is an evolution from their first EP. I would tell you it's better, but that would be a lie. BOTH records are unbelievable and solid in their own way. "Change in the Neon Light" has pumped up the dance appeal from their last effort "Into A New Mausoleum". It's good to know that Veil Veil Vanish are of the mindset to show the world what it takes to create a work of ART and not just another album. There are very few bands that I can handle listening to again and again. VVV is one of them. The last album that I found to be seamless all the way through was "Drowned in a Sea of Sound" by The Daysleepers. This review could seem a bit too positive and cause any of you reading it to be skeptical. I am a Dream Pop and Post Punk junkie, so maybe it is. The point I can not stress enough here, is that VVV is not trying to be anyone else. Post-Punk, Dream Pop, and Shoegaze are always threatened by the bands these genres were coined for. There are a lot of bands trying to sound like the Cure, Joy Division, My Bloody Valentine, Cocteau Twins, Slowdive, and so on. The trick seems to be not to just take reference from the greats, but to actually be solid musicians with an amount of pure creativity. The only downside to "Change in the Neon Light" is the length. 9 songs is such a tease when the music is so good. I guess I'll just have to wait for my next fix. Average Rating:![]() |

The Sun & the Neon LightReviewsYet another great Booka Shade. If you haven't heard Memento and DJ-Kicks (Booka Shade) This is a good one to start with. I've been a Booka Shade listener and fan for some time now. Flows nicely from "Outskirts" to "You don't know what you mean to me" The Sun & the Neon Light is presented by Get Physical Music Others to look out for Memento, Movements and DJ-Kicks. It's not often you get a full 14 tracks that pull you into their world, easy listening but still a great CD from start to finish 5 stars for track choice 5 stars for flow Booka Shade has had some amazing hits and been exciting to watch over the last couple years in becoming a huge influence in good electronic music. This album however was horrible. There were like 2 good tracks on the whole cd and the rest of the tracks are just a bunch of sounds thrown together that made me want to vomit just hearing. Do not buy this cd because the utter failure in its creation will make you very dissapointed. I found out about Booka Shade about 2 years ago when my brother was living in Ireland. I've been a big fan ever since. Their third studio album, entitled "The Sun & The Neon Light", is by far their most mature and focused to date. They still know their way around the studio, but they seem to have taken a different route this time. While their penchant for a minimal approach remains intact, they seem to have tweaked it and have created something thoroughly enjoyable. Their last effort was a delight for the ears but just lacked the real depth that this one has. Give it a listen, you wont regret it. Key tracks include: Control Me, Charlotte, Sweet Lies and Psychameleon. But they're all great. Also, if you ever get the chance to catch these guys live, do it. Leaving their massive club hits behind can be either a good or bad thing, depending on which way you look at it. While I really can't stomach listening to Mandarine Girl or Body Language much any more, as they've become too played out in my head, I could listen to Night Falls and In White Rooms every day of the week. Some hits stay with you, and others you want nothing more to do with once they've found their way onto the 5th DJ mixed cd you've heard in the past few months. The Sun and The Neon Light may not have any of the dance floor stomping hits you've come to expect from Booka, they've returned with a solid excursion into downtempo melodies and cinematic-like soundscapes. I don't think it's an album that needs to grow on you, as at first listen, the intial 3 tracks have very catchy and accessible melodies to begin the album. It changes back and forth from new wave like, synth-pop vocal tunes, to downtempo minimal, to upbeat tech house tracks. There's still your share of get up and dance tracks like Karma Car, Planetary, and the well reviewed single, Charlotte. They've also included a radio mix of they very catchy sythn-pop track, Numbers, which they first introduced on their DJ-Kicks mix CD. The only issue I have with the album is them not including their track Tickle, which was released on vinyl along with Karma Car. I liked that track a lot, in fact, better than Karma Car. Those seeking more euphoric and upbeat tracks like those found on Movements may be a little disappointed, as the album definitely takes on a feel like they are attempting to become more creative with their electronica, rather than trying to appease the masses and find their way onto 8 mix Cd's this year. For those of you who are hesitant at purchasing this new album because of this lack of dance floor oriented electro and tech house, there's also the limited edition version found here: The Sun & the Neon Light. It's currently an import, and hopefully the price will come down for US buyers. It's not a must have, unless you are looking for a more upbeat sound. The 2nd disc features remixes of most of the album tracks, and also includes two tracks not found on Disc 1. It isn't exactly a DJ mix per se, but it is continuously mixed. If you can find it for a decent price, it's well worth having both discs, as it's interesting to see all the album tracks morph into club tracks, to get an insight into what the album could have been if it remained all upbeat. I'm very impressed with this album, and find myself listening to both discs of the Limited Edition quite frequently. I think they both provide a different feel, and I haven't become spoiled by hearing the 2nd disc of remixes, as I still find the original versions interesting enough to stand alone. There are 14 tracks on the main album disc, and I'd say I found 12 of them to be above average. Add the Limited Edition's 11-track, 2nd disc, which really doesn't have any weak tracks, and you're getting a lot of music from one of the best duos in today's electronica. You really can't go wrong as those not preferring the more downtempo and vocal vibes of the album, should have no trouble with the peppy, 2nd disc mix on the limited edition: The Sun & the Neon Light. One of the most exciting producers to emerge in the current context of electronic music, Booka Shade unfortunately lets down with The Sun & The Neonlight. Totally unintelligent and dorky. HUGE disappointment. Average Rating:![]() |

Neon LightsReviewsSimple Minds doing Covers ? The fact that this cd is Simple Minds doing covers is enough to buy it . This cd is in limited editions and won't be around for ever. Songs like "Homosapien","All tomorrow's parties","dancing Barefoot","being boiled" and the non vocal "love will tare us apart' are great. Remeber their earlier cd "Simple Minds the early years" was a limited pressing too. That cd has long been out of print and is very had to get today. If you are a Simple Minds fan it is a rare gem to your collection. If you like to hear bands do covers then this cd is for you too. Just in case you were dying to know what it would sound like if Simple Minds covered the Doors, this is your chance to find out. Cover albums are a mixed breed. Some are unmitigated disasters (Duran Duran's "Thank You" comes to mind), others work out well. I would place Simple Minds' "Neon Lights" in the latter category, though not without reservations. There are certainly some lackadaisical interpretations here ("The Man Who Sold the World," "Being Boiled"), but there are also some gems, including the punchy take on "Gloria" and a spacy and ethereal rendering of the title track. Their reproductions of "Hello I Love You" and "Bring On the Dancing Horses" are matters of taste; I enjoyed them. The real gem, however, is saved for last: Despite Ian Curtis' grating vocals, I've long been a fan of the song "Love Will Tear Us Apart" and its hauntingly memorable chorus hook. Simple Minds has stripped the song of all the lyrics other than the title line, and given the track a dancy, urban updating. It works like a charm. If you are or ever were a fan of this band, this disc is worth it for this number alone. Simple Minds is one of the greatest bands ever to emerge from the U.K. So after more than 20 years and a dozen albums of original material, why redo music from other artists? If the band wants to let us know who influenced them, I'd rather READ about in an interview, than have them waste valuable studio time that could have been spent on another great album of originals. With that said, how's the album? Reasonably good. The highlights are mostly tucked away in the second half, namely renditions of Neil Young's "The Needle & The Damage Done," Velvet Underground's "All Tomorrow's Parties," and Human League's "Being Boiled." Each is interpreted in an interesting manner, while challenging preconceptions about Simple Minds' sound. Pete Shelly's "Homosapien," while close to the original, is such a great track it's a treat to hear anyone do it. As for the rest of the album, some of the covers are rather pedestrian; The Doors' "Hello I Love You" tries to evoke a 'modern' sound, but really sounds more like a couple of soccer dads fooling around with Casio keyboards. Others songs seem chosen - predictably and pretentiously - for their snob/cool factor - i.e. material from critic's darlings like Bowie/Lou Reed/Patti Smith, etc. Simple Minds were big fans of early Genesis, so why not "out themselves" and do a cover of "Watcher of the Skies" or "Cinema Show?" That would be more interesting, and more revealing. Thankfully, after this album Simple Minds turned out another great album of originals, 2002's "Cry." The band is one of the few that can consistently turn out good new material, so they should stick to that. Reading past reviews I cannot do butwrite down a few comments. At first, I am a huge SM fan since 1988..and I am still supporting the band in the last new tours around the world!! they are back with a new album (CRY) and some new compilations (Early Gold, The Best of, and such).But...NEONLIGHTS is really a bad album. The idea was great...a cover album from the best scottish band ever!! But I believe the selection of songs is quite strange and arrangements are quite simple. Some stuffs like the title track "neonlight" seems a funeral procession. If you are a starter: NEW GOLD DREAM is the best start up. If you already like SM and are wondering whether to buy this CD or not, the answer is: NO. wasting money.Enry This is the best collection of covers that I've heard since Siouxsie and the Banshees' THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS. In my view, what makes a great cover version is when the artist(s) approaches the song differently, with a completely different interpretation. Simple Minds know how to do this beautifully.Much of the album has a modern, often techno bent to it. This is a good thing if you like techno music but get bored with the repetition and start to long for actual songs and substance (like me). There's not one bad song here, the selection is excellent although the last one, "Love Will Tear Us Apart" is a bit of a throwaway dance version - but no matter."The Needle and the Damage Done," "For Your Pleasure" and "All Tomorrow's Parties" make a most exquisite song-cycle and are standouts among standouts! Highly recommended! Average Rating:![]() |

Neo Neon DL-2W-18FT-1"-120V-B 18' Blue Rope LightReviewsThe blue lights are a nice deep blue. The red lights are more orange than red and much brighter than the blue. Both good but they don't go together. Seems very durable. Pretty good lights for the price. I wanted some ambient lighting in my bedroom, and decided to go with some cheap blue rope lights to start (these). The color is quite nice, it came with some mounts, and you can't beat the low wattage LEDs... they're cool to the touch, and you can leave them on all the time without impacting your energy bill. Because of the thick-ish casing, though, don't count on these being the brightest. I was originally thinking of putting them behind a dresser or bed for a non-directional glow sort of effect, but they're just a bit too dim for that. As long as you're ok with seeing the actual rope light wherever you put it, I recommend these. Otherwise, you might be better off going with white ones or some other type of light. Probably the prettiest of the rope light offerings, but do not depend on being the brightest. I use mine for ambience and with a mix of red and white for stair lights. I do like the Blue the best and the quality is very good. I recommend these for anyone. Gives a feeling of festive aura. Average Rating:![]() |

Beyond Space and Time 4 Movie PackReviewsCONTENTS of BEYOND SPACE AND TIME 4 Movie Pack: KILLERS FROM SPACE is the odd man out here as it's a half century older than the other three titles and in b&w. Directed by Billy Wilder's brother William (confused?) and starring Peter Graves, this is the story of an accidentally killed scientist who's revived by aliens so that he can spy on some atomic tests for them. NEOPHYTES AND NEON LIGHTS-- Aussie-set tale of a futuristic Sydney and five unemployed individuals trying to survive in the city's underground. PIZZA WARS-- College-made comedy about two overweight pizza delivery guys who find a genie in a water pipe and use it to combat a corporation trying to monopolize the entire pizza industry. Loved by the film's participants, disdained by most others. WAITING FOR THE GIANTS-- This allegorical anti-prejudice message movie is the slightest of a strange bunch. A rather tall fellow goes on the run after cops murder his wife. In his travels the giant meets up with other bizarre people and they all bond. BRENTWOOD's 4-fers are nicely priced movie bundles. Video and sound quality of these digitally unrestored public domain films is generally fine. Discs are dual-side recorded. TIME TRAVELERS is another "themed" BRENTWOOD sci-fi 4 movie pack. . Parenthetical numbers preceding titles are 1 to 10 viewer poll ratings found at a film resource website. (2.9) Killers from Space (1954) - Peter Graves/James Seay/Steve Pendleton/Frank Gerstle (2.8) Neophytes and Neon Lights (Australia-2001) - Sam O'Dell/Morgan O'Neill/Malina Hamilton-Smith (???) Pizza Wars: The Movie (2002) - Andy Sims/Charisse Loriaux/Elliott Peele/Heather Rae Gavin (2.1) Waiting for the Giants (2000) - Lorne Hughes/Christopher Stone/Suzanne Turner Like so many of the sci-fi compliations from this company, this one aims to please the die hard B-movie sci-fi fan. The four films on this DVD set are: "Pizza Wars" (2002) "Waiting for the Giants" (2000) "Killers from Space" (1954) "Neophytes & Neon Lights" (2001) As they say, if you like movies featuring futuristic societies, genies who emerge from bongs and psychic mutants who can see into the future then this is for you. ineo I-NA309J, 3.5-Inch SATA 2 Bay JBOD to B Type USB 2.0 Galaxy Neon Light (Grey)ReviewsI was skeptical with the price, but after I installed the 2 1TB drives and turned it on it was flawless. I am going to order another one just so I can have it. Very easy to use, very simple design, works great!! I love this product. I had two 1 TB drives laying around so I bought this product because it was one of the cheapest I found. With in 10 minutes I had the drives installed and it was up and running. I use this as a backup drive on my network and for that purpose it works great. I've been using this with two 1TB WD Green drives to stream HD video. No issues at all, runs cool and quiet! The directions included are well-written and helpful, but they are not exactly correct; the product must have changed since printed and there are a few extra screws and steps, but it's very simple to put together and well made. The only advice I can provide with assembly is to be careful with the wiring harness for the front lights, they are thin wires and the sheathing can be damaged, but I think that's obvious and the same as any other device like this, putting the drives in is very intuitive. The product does exactly what ineo states, it concatenates the two installed hard-drives into one logical drive, and your computer recognizes it (plug-and-play) as one new hard-drive. You can not use pre-existing content on the drives, you need to format the new logical drive the same as any new hard-drive (I use Windows XP, so via the "found new drive" wizard). There are no buttons, dip-switches, or software for setting options (which I like). I didn't use the included backup software, so can't say how it works. I'd recommend the I-NA309J to anyone! ineo I-NIA302U, 3.5-Inch IDE/SATA Hybrid External Hard Drive Enclosure to USB 2.0 Galaxy Neon Light (Black)ReviewsI just received this today and it works great (like most of these). It has a nice blue led that makes the unit glow when being used. Its not too bright though and adds to my home studio vibe. I installed a WD IDE HDD and had no problems securing it in place. The HDD felt secure without using screws. I did find it odd that the screw holes on the unit didn't match up with me Western Digital HDD, but maybe they're set up for SATA drives. It was immedicately recognized and worked the first time. The finger screws are a nice feature and look better than screw heads. After having it on for a couple hours and running a full virus scan on my drive the outside of the unit was barely warm at all. That's all I know and now you know it too! I would recommend this product. Average Rating:![]() |

Soft and Opaque Microfiber Tights - 30 Colors! - We Love Colors - Small, Medium, LargeReviewsThe item says it will fit to something like 5'11" and 170#.....I am less than that and it would take a crow bar to fit this on me! They look like high quality and I'd probably have loved them if I could wear them. Just beware of sizing....I would estimate that the M/L would fit MAYBE 5'7" and 140#, unless you plan to have a wrestling match with them to get them on. I am not happy with this order. At first, I had received instead of maroon colour, fuchsia. Secondly, jersey non-uniform, in strips and non-uniform density. Rubber on the top narrow and disturbs me, though I have not wide waist. I have paid for them more than 20 dollars, for this sum I would buy much better quality. I would estimate them in 5 dollars, no more. I am disappointed. Absolutely wonderful tights. There worth the money. I've had my mine for 2 weeks and the don't have runs in them. washed several time and it is the same color same fit.there still comfortable every time. Go to [...] they have even more colors to choose from. These tights are the best I've found, especially for hot weather. They don't break down under the combined effects of heat and sweat. They also retain their stretch after repeated wear. And I've never had any of mine tear (like most tights do). You will need to pay attention to the washing instructions and use cold water only; if you wash them in hot water the colors will gradually fade. I wash mine in my washing machine's gentle cycle in cold water and they're still bright after dozens of washes. An excellent product! Average Rating:![]() |

Nirve Vintage Bike Light (Chrome)ReviewsI build custom bicycles. There are a myriad of lighting systems for cyclists. Some range from nine dollars to over five hundred dollars. This particular light is not bad at all for the price. Depending on what your application is you have two mounting options and brackets. I mounted the light on a springer front end using one of the supplied brackets upside down and after enlarging the mounting hole. It is a reasonably well built light that is functional and surprisingly bright if aimed properly and you use both bulbs at once. It gives clear reasonable light for sight, but most importantly it allows motor vehicles to see you. The switch is a bit cheaply made and the contacts are sensitive but the LED bulbs and 9 volt battery power are efficient and work well. You can even remove the visor on the light if you prefer. All in all for the price it's a great light with perfect vintage style for a cruiser bicycle, and with the visor removed it can also work well for a vintage British 3 speed. The mounts are a bit flimsy, but with better hardware (stainless steel) you can make it reasonably tight and secure. It is the better of the lights out there of this style, and it is MUCH better than a vintage light that uses two D batteries and a flashlight bulb that is dim, yellow and has a black spot in the middle from the bulb. It looks great, works well and is cheap-all reasons to get one, and forget the made in Japan vintage lights on ebay. I would like to add that in addition to a headlight you should also use a flashing red LED taillight. Be safe. Average Rating:![]() |
