I have used several styles of book lights in the past, and this one is definitely the best. The spring-loaded clip is not going to break like some of the plastic clips on other lights. The flexible arm allows you to position the light exactly where you need it and is long enough to accommodate any size book. The two-level light switch supports comfortable viewing in complete dark as well as low light settings. Highly recommended!

Bought this as a gift. My husband loves it. He can read at night and it doesn't keep me awake.

I was fortunate to stumble across this book light. It has worked tremendously well for me so I will be buying more just to have them as backup (and possibly to share with other family members). The clip is strong enough to clip over a large section of pages and stays put. The light has 2 bulbs, so you can reduce the amount of light by either having one on, or both. The flexible area bends in any direction so you have full control of how you want to position your light.

I wasn't sure how well this tiny light would work for me but it does every thing it says it will. I use it to read at night in bed so I don't t=have to have a big light on. Wonderful idea.

This has been a great purchase for me. I live in Illinois and was not used to the gray winter days (I'm from Colorado and there is at least 300 days of sunshine a year). Last winter I was depressed, gained weight, and never had any energy. Since I've been using the happy light I have experienced alertness, calmness, and my sleep patterns have become more regular, just like the advertisement said! I use it to help me wake up in the morning. I'm not sure if it's just a placebo effect or what but this light seems to be working! Only thing, I can't help feeling like I've been ripped off. $100? If I hadn't been so desperate for something to help with SAD I definitely would have shopped around a little more for a reasonably priced product (although this was one of the cheapest I found). Also, I also don't like that I have to order from Verilux to get replacement bulbs. At $25 a piece this is pretty pricey. However, I tell myself that it's a natural solution and it beats being depressed and mopey all the time. It's also healthier than anti-depressants.

At first I was a sceptic, but after using the lamp this winter for the past MONTH I now understand how it is really helping me. If used for 30 or more minutes in the morning on top of the 6-8 hours of sleep I recieve I feel ALERT and AWAKE for the whole day. Before I would still be mopping around until about 11am trying to WAKE up. Now I am awake and ready to go ALL day. (Before I would want to take a nap at 3pm after work too) but with the lamp I feel good. I would say this product is BEST for someone who lives in New England and likes being outside because I think regulating yourself with this lamp really does wake you up and starts you off on a good foot! I would highly recommended to morning people who like to get up and get going.

A native Californian, I was distraught to be stuck in Seattle for work. After 4 months of winter, my boyfriend noticed the long dark days were having a distinct effect on my mood. I was tired, withdrawn, and lacking energy. By 3 in the afternoon, I was ready for a nap. He bought me the HappyLight. I packed the little box into my rolly suitcase and brought it with me to Seattle. While plastic, it survived the trip easily. It now lives on my desk in the hotel room, casting its glow over my laptop where I eat and play each evening. It does not generate an excess of heat (though if you leave it on for hours upon hours the back gets warm) but casts the promised "full spectrum" - noticeably different from the dim yellow bulbs of the hotel or the nasty fluorescent beasts at work. It does not hurt my eyes or distract from my laptop or tv screen. It's been two full days. I'm not kidding; I have had the HappyLight beside me for the last two nights and have noticed a significant difference in my mood. I am one very happy customer.

I searched these reviews for good advice on which light to choose. After much debate, I finally landed on this one. I couldn't be happier with it, and use it daily. To those of you bemoaning that it is cheaply made, I'm not sure what you were looking for. A steel reinforced desk lamp??? I'm pretty tough on my things, and was worried this might be too delicate, but it isn't. It's plenty sturdy for what it is - a desk light. It's not flimsy at all, it stands perfectly straight up, it emits a great light, and the control is solid. I wish I hadn't listened to all those folks complaining about the quality of the design and materials. I'm happy to say I found their advice entirely incorrect. As for the quality of the light being emitted, I'm very happy with it. It is a bit bright at first, but that's part of how and why it works. I got used to it just fine in a half hour or so. Don't spend a fortune on other lights. This little number is exactly what you are looking for!

I just got my Verilux happy lite today - Bought mine online direct from the Verilux company (big sale/better deal) (Sorry Amazon). Anyway - I always wanted to try one of these - but they were always in the $200.00 and up range - too pricey for a little sunshine. Anyway - each winter I seem to grow slower, and more lethargic, more passe', lower and lower energy. So I got to looking at these again and bought it when I found the deal. Anyway - as a first time user of happy lite/SAD/sunshine lights - here's my take. In the evenings I get very, very sluggish and dragging around. I took it out of the box, assembled it, and tried placement where I wanted over my computer. Although it was 9:30, I flipped the switch on and thought I would try it for 15 minutes - but no more. (Take 1 hour to get 10,000 LUX and in 30 minutes you get 5,000 LUX). Anyway, the little 15 minutes I used it I definitely could tell a pick me up. I felt a little more energy and clearheadedness. Really I did. I popped up and cleaned up a little in the kitchen and set myself of to knock out some paperwork. After a while I started to settled back in to a late evening sleepy mode. So - I say it works based on the brief exposure I had tonight. I can't wait until tommorrow morning to try it out for the full time. I look forward to having 'full energy' again during the remains of these somber wintry months, so I can get things done and not be walking around like a zombie. RE: the cheapness of the product stated in earlier comments. Not a problem. It's not THAT cheaply made. It's a solid plastic cover on the outside and metal on the inside. The outer plastic cover (called a diffuser) lines up in the ridges ok, but one side seems to not exactly lay flat in the ridge. No biggy. I can live with it. I'm not touching it all the time and after all, I'm using it for the 'light' it produces. It was MUCH bigger than the picture makes it appear. It is as tall as a shoe box standing on it's side. A little taller actually. I'd best describe it as the size of a half a bread box standing on it's side (the old plastic ones that nobody has used in the past 50 years). Or expect it to be about 1/3 of the width your computer hard drive box (assuming you have a standard one). Anyway, I figure in the morning this will have the same effect as a good cup of coffee. I look forward to having energy and being highly active all day and getting lots done!! It is sure to help me reclaim my days and hours. Yaaaaaaaaaay. I'm so glad I finally tried this! I say if you have *any* slow, sleepy, fatigued, groggy, slumbering, lethargic symptoms at all during the day in the cold months - this is well worth the money!!! t.

For the price that I paid for this lamp I was surprised by the quality of the product. You cannot go wrong with this lamp as long as you are not expecting a professional\industrial grade product. Unlike other low-cost swingarm lamps I have purchased this one is sturdy, the articulation is smooth and it maintains its orientation without drooping.

DOES THE JOB AND THEN SOME!! Got this bad boy today. Looks very good and will do the job for my desk. This is not a 85.00 lamp for the price advertised here so if your looking for a high dollar, high performance lamp keep looking down the line. I used one of the new coil fluorescent bulbs and its a bit heavy for it so I did have to tighten the pivots joints and now its holding it fine. I do not think that I will have to be moving it around a lot so this will work fine for my plans and it looks very impressive on my desk. The cord is about 4ft in length, It has a twist on / off switch on top of the lamp head. Amazon did a great job packaging this in a over sized box. You install the base how ever your mounting status is then put the lamp in the base which I thought was good planning and keeps you from banging it around. Buy with confidence. I bought this lamp for a dorm room, where my desk is under my bed. It fits my needs perfectly. It clamps on (the clamp can be mounted on a sideways plane) the support brace for my bed, and is highly articulate. It's also very steady, if you tighten down the screws, and doesn't droop too much if tightened. My one problem with this lamp is that it has the tendency to droop slightly if not tightened, and the clamp may wear out (but is probably replaceable.) If you're looking for a cheap swing arm lamp that still looks professional, look no further!

This is just what we needed, a little lamp to attach to the desk for added light. Works great! I have no complaints! Highly recommend!

These lamps are exactly what I was looking for, and I'm generally quite pleased with the purchase. The base to one of them broke on installation, though, when I was adjusting the position of the lamp; my fault, probably, since I apparently didn't understand the geometry correctly. Have yet to request a replacement bracket, and should they provide it at no cost I'll edit the rating to five stars. The shipping charge, however, seemed exorbitantly high. These are lightweight lamps and not particularly bulky, so $12 for two seems excessive to me. At $9.25 each, though, I think they were worth it.

I just got these lamps. They were delivered very promply and arrived in good condition. They have a wonderful glow to them and I can't wait until tonight to see how beautiful they truely are. Im not sure about the health claims but the warm glow from them alone is fine with me. It's a cool looking & natural nightlight and I will enjoy them both. Yes, I would reorder from this seller. These Salt Lamps came very promptly, and they were in great condition. They were heavy, and a good size. I have been using them for about 2 weeks. I have not seen a change in my asthma, or allergies yet, but the rag weed, and other pollens are strong where I live. I have seen a difference in my babys allergies. I also take care of my nephew, and when he comes in the morning his nose is running, and after his afternoon nap by the lamp the drainage is almost gone. I love the calm amber light it gives off the most, I think even my husband is more relaxed when he's around it.(That makes it worth while to me!)

Good product at reasonable price. One big plus is it has an off/on switch, which most I've looked at do not, so when you don't need to use it, you don't have to pull it out of the USB socket in order to turn off. I would like the light spectrum to cover more of the keyboard, but that seems to be a problem with most USB lights and this one probably covers it a little better because of the shape and its flexibility. But it illuminates enough to do the job.

it's a cool little lamp. I am using it in my library carrel at school. It's relatively inexpensive and stable with good weight in the base. cobalt glass shade is a nice color, stays put when you adjust it.

This is a great little desk/work lamp. The blue shade is very calming and cooling, and really protects my eyes (very sensitive to light) but lets me see what I'm doing. It's very sturdy and well-made. The brushed chrome stem has vertical ribbing like an architectural column, and the base has a decorative medallion design around the base of the stem. Also, the base is very weighty to offset the weight of the thick glass shade, so it doesn't budge when you pull the on/off chain. My office is decorated with silver and various shades of blue accents, so this little lamp is a perfect fit. It arrived ahead of schedule and in perfect condition (good packing), and is a very good value especially for the quality. Highly recommend this product and vendor.

I have nothing bad to say about the XtraFlex2 Craft light. It has 2 brightness levels and my wife just uses the low for reading her Nook. She says it works great and covers the whole Nook without having to adjust the position of the light. The clamp opens wide enough to grab on to anything you might need to use it on. She's had it for around a month; uses it most nights after going to bed, and hasn't changed the batteries yet. Highly recommend this product.

I've owned a bunch of booklights and this one is by far the best. Pros: * It delivers a strong beam that covers two pages of a hardback book * The clip opens nice and wide. (more on this later) * The clip has padding on both sides so it holds without slipping. (this too) * The flexible neck is ridged enough so the light stays where you set it. * The price is very reasonable. * As an added bonus THIS MAKES AN EXCELLENT LIGHT FOR YOUR LAPTOP/NETBOOK! Thanks to the padded clip being able to "open wide" you can clip it to your screen and it is perfect for lighting up your keyboard. Cons: None!

Oh I really love my leg lamp!!! It looks really nice for the price, I love that the stockings are real and the light it gives looks really beautiful. I had purchased a black simple desk and wanted to give it a little edge so I picked this lamp and "vuala"! automatic edgy cabaret air to my little desk corner, my laptop and a little skull on the side completed my look... I'm only missing a black, red and yellow vintage canvas art for the wall behind it and then it will be a knockout!!!

My 31 year old daughter thought it was hilarious and absolutely loved it! Of course, it's not as impressive as the full-sized leg lamp, but just as authentic-looking. Also, the price was much more reasonable as a silly gift than the full-sized lamp.

Since this was a Christmas gift for my son I was pleased that I received it in time for Christmas Day. Here had often talked about getting this lamp and our family decided to surprise him this year. While watching the "Christmas Story" on Christmas Eve,he mentioned how "cool" it would be to have the lamp,not knowing it would be his on Christmas Day. What a surprise when he opened the front door and spotted a package with "FRAGILE" written on it. He was thrilled. After taking it home and putting it in the window of his apartment, neighbors having a party nearby all came together outside when someone noticed the lamp. well, the metal wire of the shade on the lamp was bent significantly. unfortunately, it was a gift & almost Christmas, so no time to send it back. We did the best we could in bending it back into shape, not perfect though. Never contacted seller...too much trouble to deal with sending it back. otherwise cool gift.

I was surprised by the level of quality of this lamp (amazing, perfectly constructed, works perfect), its probably the best one in our house now. I gave this as a Christmas gift and it got "a lot" of laughs. I thought it was going to be bigger, I should have read the measurements, but its a really great size for a desktop lamp. It has a nice soft warm color when turned on. It arrived in perfect condition.

The lamp is cute, but beware that you need a special decocator bulb as a regular bulb does not fit. Lowe's or Home Depot have them.

The previous reviewer based her opinion on the fact she could not find a lightbulb for the lamp, but in fact all it takes is a trip to Lowe's to get the right one... a small round 40W bulb made for "decorative fixtures" and it works great! I bought this for my toddler's new big-boy room and couldn't be happier. At the time of my purchase, it was $14 with free shipping, while everything comparable on the net was $50 to $100! Plus the colors match his bedding so perfectly, it looks made to order. The quality is very nice. The plane's propeller really spins, and the plane itself can be rotated around the lamp, which my son enjoys doing. The brushed-steel hardware on the lamp is heavy and attractive, very high-end. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

This lamp is really cute and I was very excited when it first arrived. However, it states on the lamp that it takes a 40 watt type B bulb. I went and purchased this type of bulb but it doesn't fit in the lamp! I would use a different type of bulb but I don't want to start a fire and this lamp was for my son's nursery. Overall, a waste of money!

I got the KNG Disney's Cars Super Charged Lamp for my son for Christmas. He loved it. However, about 3 weeks after Christmas, it just stopped working. I checked the bulb and switched outlets but neither helped, so I know it must be the lamp. I notified Phimart which is who I received it from to request a return authorization number. They never responded to my request. They have a 30 day return policy and of course, the lamp stopped working after the 30 period. It is ashame they have such a terrible return policy especially on items that are ordered ahead of time for gift purposes. I guess I am stuck with a lamp to use just as a decoration since it does not work. This is no reflection on Amazon as everything that I have gotten directly from them, I have had no problems.

We got this lamp for my son's new "Cars" themed room. He loves it. He turns it on over and over. I wonder how long it will last, sometimes the talking stops before I think it is supposed to. Sometimes the light stays on, sometimes it goes off, and just the nightlight part stays on. What disappointed me the most is that it says that it plays songs and talks, but the song is not from the Cars movie, it is just some instrumental music and the voice is clearly NOT Lightning McQueen. That seems to bother me more than it bothers my son. Either way, he is happy with it, he loves it, and he uses the nightlight part to sleep with. I guess that is what is most important.

This was a Christmas present for my daughter, she had been asking for a Hannah Montana lamp for YEARS because she wanted to get rid of her "baby" Nemo lamp (that was actually bought for her as a present when she was a baby, so she was right). I looked at stores all over and couldn't find anything even close to a Hannah Montana lamp, even at the Disney store, which is weird because they have every other product you could ever imagine on the face of the earth with her face stamped on it. So anyway I was ecstatic to find this one on Amazon, read the reviews and saw they were mostly positive, and bought it. She was thrilled to open it on Christmas and we set it up right away. It's very sturdy, has a great design, and the nightlight feature is wonderful. She had been sleeping with the hallway light on for months now because she rooked me into believing she was spontaneously afraid of the dark after over 6 years of not being that way, so when she got this I told her she would use the nightlight and not the hallway light anymore and she agreed. Almost a month now and she loves it and no hallway light, so I love it.

My daughter was so excited when this arrived! I don't remember if the dimensions are listed for it but it is larger than I thought it would be. I only gave it 4 stars because the fuse in it blew after only 1 week. Her room is on the small side and she thinks the night light is too bright so we don't use it. The lamp is pretty though. I would recommend it.

the item was cute and all but the noise coming out of it when the fairies are turning is more louder than the music itself. Speaking of the music it stopped working two days in unless i hold on the cord from the back at a certain angle while pushing it in.
